Just the way it is.
Never going to change.
This coming Sunday (March 2) marks nine years since Soul Purpose Church was birthed. It has been an amazing ride. God has carried us every step of the way. He has brought us from no money, no equipment, and no people to way more than I could dream.
However, the biggest miracle of Soul Purpose is not the birth and progression organizationally. Rather, the biggest miracle lies in the personal stories of lives dramatically changed by the power of God and placed together in one of the oddest, most beautiful families ever.
You see, Soul Purpose is not one of those churches where a group of people with very similar beliefs and behaviors just found each other. Each of us were broken, messed up, conflicted individuals who had very little in common with each other except that each of us were also broken, messed up, and conflicted in our own way.
But WOW! How God has changed so many lives here!
Ephesians 3:6-8,19-20 And this is God's plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God's children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus. By God's grace and mighty power, I have been given the privilege of serving Him by spreading this Good News. Though I am the least deserving of all God's people, He graciously gave me the privilege of telling the Gentiles about the endless treasures available to them in Christ. ...May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
From now through Easter (April 20), we are going to be celebrating the God who does the impossible. We would love to hear from you.
Would you share two things with us?
1) What is "IMPOSSIBLE" in your life right now? We promise to keep whatever you share very confidential (only shared with our most trusted church leaders) and will only use the information you share to pray fervently and privately for you.
2) What seemingly "IMPOSSIBLE" things has God already done in your life? We would love to share your stories of God's amazing, transforming power in several formats - written, verbal, by video.
Send your "IMPOSSIBLE" prayer request or praise to firstname.lastname@example.org
(Put "IMPOSSIBLE" in the subject line.)
If you will share either of these IMPOSSIBLE things with us by email, we promise to pray for you and periodically check back with you.
Is that a deal?
