GUILTY! What now?

All of us have done things wrong in our lives. We have all sinned and continue to do so. When we do, we are often filled with regret and guilt. It is during these times that we often move away from God, feeling unworthy of being in His presence. It is during this time when Satan is right there to try and keep you away from God. He will tell you that there is no way God will forgive you this time. He will make you think that you are too bad to be used by God. But this just another lie Satan is telling us.

David is one of the leading figures in the Bible. He committed sins that most of us would not dream of doing. He committed adultery and then had the woman's husband killed.

However what David did after his sin was to seek God, not run from God. In Psalm 51 we see David asking God to forgive him. In verse 10, David asks:

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me."

David was a faithful servant of God, yet he committed terrible sins. God not only forgave, but ensured that the Messiah would come from the line of David.

When we sin, we shouldn't withdraw from God and give up. This is the time to move closer to God and ask Him to renew your spirit. The price for the sins you have committed, and will commit, has already been paid. We just need to ask God for forgiveness.
